SEPANG: Flights for 56 potential Haj pilgrims from group KT043 have been delayed. The group was originally slated to leave for the Holy Land this morning.

The impacted pilgrims will now board a Saudi Airlines flight to Jeddah at 5:35 p.m. tomorrow before continuing on to Madinah, according to a statement released today by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH).

The statement claims that technical difficulties were experienced by the Saudi Airlines flight SV5091, which was due to take off with 353 passengers from the Movenpick Hotel and Convention Centre (MHCC) departure hall at 6.30am today.

A replacement aircraft was then sent to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport to transport the 297 pilgrims from the group, and at 10.36 am the flight left for Madinah, according to the announcement.

It stated that in order to guarantee the 56 impacted pilgrims’ well-being, Tabung Haji would house and feed them at MHCC until their revised departure date.

“The flight schedule for other groups of prospective pilgrims remains unaffected and will continue as usual due to the rescheduling of this small group of pilgrims,” the statement continued. –  Bernama
