343,836 TVET-Related Job Opportunities Offered in Six Months – Ramanan
PUTRAJAYA: Demand for skilled workers continues to rise as 343,836 job opportunities related to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) have been offered through the MYFutureJobs platform over the six-month period of this year.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said this development proves that technical and vocational skills are increasingly gaining recognition in the job market, in line with industry needs that are undergoing technological transformation and economic digitalisation.
He said the TVET-related job opportunities advertised through MYFutureJobs offer an average salary of RM3,658 per month, reflecting the high demand from industry for skilled workers.
“In fact, for certain fields, the salary rates offered are higher depending on experience, job location and the competency certifications held by graduates.
“This situation shows that upskilling and professional certification are able to open up opportunities for more competitive incomes,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Ramanan said the job opportunities offered cover various strategic sectors including manufacturing, automation, engineering, maintenance, electrical and electronics, information and communication technology (ICT), construction, automotive, semiconductors as well as machine operation.
He said the diversity of these sectors proves that TVET graduates have broad career prospects across various high-impact industries that are the drivers of the country’s economic growth.
According to him, this development also reflects the industry’s high confidence in the ability of local skilled workers to meet the needs of an increasingly growing job market.
To ensure that more TVET students have access to quality career opportunities, Ramanan said the ministry will continue to expand the reach of MYFutureJobs services through various career programmes at training institutions, polytechnics, universities as well as Human Resources Department campuses.
MYFutureJobs is a job matching platform operated by the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) to help students identify jobs that match their skills, qualifications, interests and location.
