12 Killed, Two Critically Injured in Deadly Bus and Trailer Collision in Ghana

ACCRA :  At least 12 people were killed while two others suffered critical injuries in a tragic road accident in Ghana’s Ashanti Region late Tuesday night, according to local authorities.

The crash occurred along the Kumasi-Techiman Highway when a commercial minibus reportedly collided head-on with a trailer, eyewitnesses said.

Medical officials at the Nkenkaasu Government Hospital confirmed on Wednesday that 14 victims were brought to the hospital following the accident.

“Twelve victims were pronounced dead upon arrival, while two others remain in critical condition and are receiving treatment,” hospital authorities said.

The hospital also confirmed that the bodies of the deceased had been transferred to the hospital mortuary for identification procedures.

Police said investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the fatal collision.

Road accidents remain a major concern in Ghana, with authorities frequently urging motorists to observe traffic regulations and exercise caution on highways.
